The protection period of the registered trademark is ten years from the date of application but this period can be renewed in infinite number of periods of ten years. The trademark whose protection period expires is renewed upon the request of the owner or his authorized representative. The request for renewal shall be made within six months of the last day of the month in which the protection period expires. In the event that this period is missed, the renewal request may be made within a six-month extension from the last day of the month in which the protection period ends, provided that an additional fee is paid. The renewal period starts on the day the current registration ends. The renewal is registered and published. Trademarks which are not renewed within six months after the end of the protection period shall be deemed null and void.
